KABUL (Pajhwok): India’s ambassador to the United Nations has vehemently denounced the April 30 terrorist attack in central Logar province.
At least 26 people were killed, including high school students, and more than 100 civilians injured in the truck bombing on in Pul-i-Alam on Friday evening.
On Monday, Ambassador TS Tirumurti strongly condemned the bomb attack and voiced deep concern over the continuing high-level of violence in Afghanistan.
ANI quoted the diplomat as underlining the importance of sustained efforts to end the violence and protect civilians under all circumstances.
In all its forms and manifestations, the ambassador said, terrorism posed the most serious threat to international peace and security.
He called for stop ping the perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors of these heinous acts of terrorism and bringing them to justice.
Tirumurti asked all states to abide by their obligations under international law and Security Council resolution for active cooperation with the Afghan government in this regard.
Any act of terrorism was criminal and unjustified, regardless of their encouragement, anywhere, anytime and by anyone, he added.
