33 people die from Covid-19 in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday said 1,045 new positive Covid-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours in the country.

The ministry in a statement said 3,614 people underwent tests since Saturday and the virus was detected in 1045 people, pushing the overall tally to 74,026.

It said 282 cases were detected in Kabul, eight in, 24 in Kandahar, 113  each in Balkh , Kandahar, 69  in Paktia, 64 in Miadan Wardak, 61 in Panjsher, 48 in Nangarhar, 44 each in Baghlan , Badakhshan, 23 in Zabul, 21 in Paktika, 20 in Ghazni , 18 in Faryab, 17 in Takhar, 15 in Bamyan, 12 in Helmand, eight in Herat, six each in Samangan, Kunar, five in Ghor, four in Farah, three each in Khost, Jawzjan and two in Laghman provinces.

At least 112 individuals recovered from the infection during the period, taking the recoveries to 57,741 and 33 people lost their lives to the virus, with the total death toll reaching 3,007.
