KABUL (Pajhwok): Top diplomats from Afghanistan, Turkey and Iran agreed on Sunday on jointly combating the scourge of terrorism.
The agreement came at a three-way foreign ministerial meeting in the Turkish city of Antalya, an Iranian media outlet reported.
Afghanistan’s Hanif Atmar, Turkey’s Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Iran’s Javad Zarif underlined the active participation of their countries in the Afghan peace process.
According to IRNA, the three foreign ministers vowed to jointly battle the menace of terrorism in the region.
Tehran and Istanbul promised cooperation with Kabul on transit through Iran’s transport routes and expanding economic ties with the landlocked country.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, called for active cooperation among the three countries on advancing the Afghan peace push.
Cooperation in the fields of security, energy, connectivity and irregular migration was also on the agenda for the meeting.
