KABUL (Pajhwok): Former Presidential Spokesperson and incumbent head of the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC) was killed in capital Kabul on Friday, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
MoI Spokesperson Mirwais Stanikzai said unidentified gunmen opened firing on Menapal on Friday afternoon in the Darulaman area of Kabul.
He said gunmen managed to flee after killing Menapal while police have launched investigation.
Eyewitness said Menapal was on his way to Usman Ghani Moque to offer Jumma Prayer when gunmen opened firing on him.
Taliban claimed responsibility for Menapal killing.
