KABUL (Pajhwok): A rocket hit a house near the Kabul airport on Sunday, killing six people, including four children, and wounding four others as US forces claimed targeting an explosives-laden car heading to the airport.

An official of the Kabul police headquarters Qari Rashid told Pajhwok Afghan News the rocket was fired from an unknown direction in the limits of 15th security district at around 5pm.

Without providing information about casualties, Rashid said the rocket hit a house on the road to Kabul airport.

It is said the rocket killed six people including four children and wounded four others.

American officials said their troops targeted an explosive laden vehicle of Islamic State suicide bombers driving to the airport.

US president Joe Biden had previously warned of a second suicide attack on the airport in 24 hours after an attack on the airport, in which scores of Afghans and 13 American troops were killed.
