Will be counted absent if employees do not attend job: MoF

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance has asked its male officials and employees to resume their duties from Saturday (today), and female employees should wait until a suitable work environment is prepared for them.

On Friday, the MoF in a statement said that all officials and employees of the ministry, the deputy minister of revenue and customs, the state companies and heads of the provincial customs offices must be present on Saturday.

The statement said in Kabul the working hours of the central office were temporary from 8:00am to 12:00pm, but the working hours of the customs offices in the provinces were the same as before from 8am to 4pm.

“If the heads and employees do not attend their duties until Monday then they would be counted absent since the first date of next month,” the statement added.

According to the ministry, female employees and officials are exempt from this until a suitable work environment is prepared for them.

After the Taliban’s took control of Kabul on August 15, all government and non-governmental departments closed operations.

Last week the Taliban announced their interim cabinet to fill the governance vacuum.

ZabihullahMujahid, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, while announcing the cabinet members, said that this cabinet was temporarily in order to eliminate the weakness in the administrative affairs of government departments.
