KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting higher education minister’s comment on youth education has sparked strong reaction in the social media.
Earlier, Higher Education Minister Abdul Baqi Haqqani said: “We should train teachers for our upcoming generation who can deliver and could be expected to deliver.”
“Those who completed schools and graduated from universities in the past 20 years could not be expected to deliver. Nothing could be expected from the product of the past 20 years, remember no expectation,” he said.
Hewadpal Afghan, a social media user wrote, higher education minister humiliated youth and educated generation, he should have given them courage and confidence instead.
Maeel Khan Hassam on his facebook page wrote: “Then you complain the youth leave the country and migrate, not only this country we should leave entire world.”
He added: “the higher education minister should not speak out such a disgracing, heartbreaking and humiliated comments.”
Syal Nangarhari wrote: “Dear minister! Let’s compete in examination, if you proved me unqualified they you can complain. This is challenge for you, come let’s have a live debate, I will show you the power of the past 20 years of education.”
Laima Qarar on her facebook page wrote: “Humiliating the past 20 of education system is disgrace to the entire youth, we condemn it, and higher education ministry should apologies.”
