KABUL (Pajhwok): Insufficient funding to the mental health department of the Ministry of Public Health has affected treatment of mental illness.
World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10 when countries renew their commitments to fight this disease.
In a statement, the department of mental health of the MoPH said this year's theme is “Mental Health in an Unequal World,” which highlights the world's unequal access to mental health services due to socioeconomic inequalities. Most people with mental disorders in low- and middle-income countries are unable to access mental health services.
