PARAKH (Pajhwok): At least 1,000 patients received medical treatment in two days with the help of Afghans living in Britain in central Panjsher province and 25 of them were referred to Kabul hospitals for surgery.
Maulvi Noorullah, district chief for Hisa-i-Dowam of Panjsher, said that a medical camp had been set up in the village of Nawaja for patients. According to him, 69 percent of the people treated were women and girls.
Dr. Subhanullah Shakir, in charge of the free orthopedic treatment program, said the health services were funded by the British Association of Afghan Health Professionals . . .
