KABUL (Pajhwok): Qatar will open a special US Interests Section at its embassy in Kabul to provide consular services and other facilities.
US media outlets report Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani in Washington on Friday.
The top diplomats agreed on two areas of cooperation in Afghanistan. Under one agreement, Qatar will act as the guardian of US interests in Afghanistan.
Qatar will open a special branch of US interests at its embassy in Kabul to provide special consular services.
