KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has launched much delayed salary payment for government employees from today (Saturday), an official said.
MoFA Spokesperson Ahmad Wali Haqmal told reporters here the reason behind delay in the payment of August, September and October salaries to ensure balance and transparency.
He did not provide more information but added most of the employees’ July salaries had been paid under the old system due to the lack of time.
He said the work related to balancing the salaries has been approved by the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Administrative Affairs Office would soon inform all the departments about this through letter.
According to him, after sending the letter, all the agencies will create salary approach for their employees according to the new policy and send it to the concerned custom so the salaries can be issued accordingly.
He said that the Ministry of Higher Education, the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Public Health have cadre staff and they would be paid based on their qualification.
He said that privileged salaries are also paid, but to professional and technical people and the number was also determined for each institution.
He added that in the previous government, the salaries of government employees were not specified and the employees of the agencies had different salaries.
