KABUL (Pajhwok): Former United Nations envoy to Afghanistan Kai Eide has said that maintaining a seat in the world body for the ousted government in Kabul is not reasonable and called for global engagement with the current Afghan caretaker government.
The United States has frozen nearly $10 billion in Afghan assets and imposed some sanctions on Afghanistan since the previous government of Afghanistan was overthrown on August 15 this year and a new caretaker government was announced.
Due to the sanctions, Afghans are facing severe economic difficulties and the caretaker government has not yet been recognized by any country.
