Afghanistan’s exports up, imports down this year

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has exported goods worth more than a billion dollars, says the minister of commerce and industry.

Nooruddin Azizi, speaking to reporters here on Sunday, put the value of exports this year at about $1.5 billion.

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) confirmed a drop this year in imports.

ACCI member Khan Jan Alokozai said: “Given the situation in Afghanistan, our imports have fallen in the past two quarters.”
