KABUL (Pajhwok): The acting education minister on Thursday said schools would be reopened not because of external pressures, but because of commitment and responsibility of the government.
MulaviNoorullahMunir, acting education minister, said this during a meeting with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons and UNICEF country director for Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Munir said, "There are many hopes that with the beginning of the new academic year, girls' schools will be reopened not due to external pressures, but we will do it on the basis of our commitment and responsibility."
