ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A 12-year-old boy was killed after Pakistani forces fired rockets into Sarkano district of eastern Kunar province, sources said on Wednesday.

First Border Brigade spokesman Hamdillah told Pajhwok Afghan News said a boy was killed and several animals perished in the rocket strike from Pakistan. He said if such attacks continued, Afghan forces would retaliate.

Barakatullah, a resident of Gulab Pari area of Sarkano district, told Pajhwok that his 12-year-old son was killed in the Pakistani shelling on Tuesday.

“It was 2pm. My son was grazing cattle when hit by a rocket and died,” the father said.

He said 15 animals were also killed in the incident,

Tribal elder from Pashad area of Sarkano district, Haji Mohammad Anwar, said Pakistani forces had been firing rockets into the district since years. He said they could not work in farm fields due to the shelling.
