KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) on Monday said old banknotes worth 150 million afghanis have been torched in presence of an appointed delegation.
Abdul Qaher, acting DAB chief, said that the central bank always worked to provide needed facilities in the banking area for the public.
He said that collection of old banknotes and replacing them by new ones was aimed at easing transactions without any problems.
Qaher asked people to pay care to the maintenance of the country’s banknotes.
