KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has welcomed the Turkish government and people for dispatching humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the government, acknowledged on Tuesday that Turkey had always stood by the Afghan people in difficult times.
TRT quoted Karimi as saying: “I would want to express my gratitude to the Turkish president, government and people for sending aid and helping us at this difficult time.”
He hoped Turkey would continue extending support for the reconstruction of Afghanistan in the wake of decades of conflict.
Late on Monday, a special charity train carrying 750 tonnes of emergency supplies from Turkey chugged into Afghanistan.
Senior Afghan officials and Turkish Ambassador Cihad Erginay received the train in western Herat province.
Under the umbrella of the state-run Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), 11 Turkish groups delivered the humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan
