SHARAN/QALAT/GHAZNI CITY/NILLE (Pajhwok): Spring plantation drive has been kicked off in Paktika, Ghazni, Zabul and Daikundi provinces on Friday, officials said.
In Sharan, the capital of southeastern Paktiak province, spring plantation drive stared under the name of Free Afghanistan.
Sharan Mayor Nasir Helal told Pajhwok Afghan News Municipality and the Agriculture Department will plant 2,000 sapling in the government institutions premises.
In Ghazni City, the capital of Ghazni province, sapling plantation drive was lunched by Governor Mohammad Eshaq.
He said the plantation campaign was launched in coordination with environmental protection authority and agriculture department in which 1.5 million fruit and none-fruit sapling will be planted in Ghazni.
Similar drive was kicked off in Zabul province. Education Director Mawlavi Mohammad USman said the campaign was launched in Zabul with a message that proper education environment would be provided for student.
He said the drive would be implemented in all Zabul schools in which 1,000 saplings would be planted on the eve of new solar year.
Sapling plantation drive was also launched in Daikundi province.
