KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Wednesday said the world body was trying to get Afghanistan some international status.
A statement from the Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation Affairs said UNHCR chief Filippo Grandi met Mohammad Arsala Kharoti, deputy minister of refugee affairs on Tuesday.
"The United Nations is working to win Afghanistan international prestige, and our efforts would continue in this regard,” Grandi was quoted as saying in the statement.
He added: "Corruption and injustice were major challenges in the past, but now there is no corruption which sends a positive message.”
