MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Following an end to decades of conflict, recreation-starved residents of northwestern Faryab province are streaming to hillside campgrounds to celebrate the advent of spring.
With wild tulip and jasmine flowers yet to blossom, people are turning out in huge numbers to visit hillside areas in different parts of the province.
Because of the prolonged war, people say, they had been trapped in a cage for decades -- unable to enjoy the beauty of nature.
But after last year’s political change, they note, the situation has markedly improved nationwide in terms of exercising their right to the freedom . . .
