Always supported Afghan immigrants, says Iran

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran says it has hosted Afghan refugees and asylum seekers for years despite sanctions and in the absence of global support.

The Iranian government spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi touted Tehran’s hospitality towards Afghan refugees in a tweet on Saturday.

IRNA quoted as denouncing Britain for its plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda. But Iran hosted Afghan refugees, even when it was under sanctions, he added.
