QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwcok): Economic downturn and deteriorated financial situation of people has forced hundreds of children to come out to the streets and roads of Qala-i-Naw, the capital of northwestern Badghis province, to collect garbage or engage in hard labour.
Most of these children earn livelihood for their families through collecting garbage and shifting it to another location.
Bahauddin, 14, a resident of Ab Bakhsh area in Qadis district, said he daily collected garbage and was offered wages for it.
Poverty forced Bahauddin to leave his village and home and come to Qala-i-Naw for work . . .
