QALAT (Pajhwok): More than 1,000 children have been infected with measles in southern Zabul province in the first three months of 2022, an official said on Sunday.
Public Health Department Surveillance Section Head Dr. Gul Mohammad Omkiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News measles was on the rise in the province due to which tens of children were brought to health centres in Qalat and district centres.
He said negligence in the administration of measles vaccination led to the surge in the cases of this virus among children.
