NELLI (Pajhwok): The Education Department in central Daikundi province is facing a shortage of 2,500 teachers, an official said on Sunday.
Mufti Rahmatullah Mudassir, director of education, told Pajhwok Afghan News there were a total of 3,364 teachers available against 5,864 vacancies and 2,500 more were needed.
He said that currently the teachers’ appointment process had been stopped and the department was waiting for an order from the Ministry of Education.
Mudassir said that the issue of teachers’ shortage had been shared with the MoE and it promised to address the issue by hiring . . .
