QALAT (Pajhwok): The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) distributed cash assistance amounting to $330,000 to more than 820 displaced families in southern Zabul province.
Engineer Abdul Khaliq Akakhel, Wadan NGO provincial deputy head, told Pajhwok Afghan News that their organization distributed the aid among deserving families.
"About 820 families received the cash assistance today, with each family receiving between $400 and $420," he said.
Rozi Khan, who received the aid, said: "Today I received $420 from UNHCR, which will solve my economic problems for a while, but it is not a permanent solution. He called on charities . . .
