GADREZ (Pajhwok): The residents of Chamkani and Janikhel districts of southeastern Paktia province have asked the government to reconstruct the highway between the two towns as its rundown condition has created many problems for them.
The 32-km long road connects Janikhel with Chamkani and five other districts with neighboring Khost province.
Haji Naek Mohammad, a tribal elder from Chamkani district, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had long been promised reconstruction of the road, but no practical steps were taken.
He said neither the previous government nor the new government had paid attention to the deteriorated condition of the highway . . .
