KABUL (Pajhwok): Some Afghan journalists held a protest rally in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, asking western countries like Canada to address their asylum issue.

After the political change in Afghanistan in August last year, Prime Minister of Canada Justine Trudeau said 40,000 vulnerable Afghans would be given the chance to immigrate to Canada, but only 16000 had so far managed to get refuge there.

Now stuck in Pakistan, Afghan journalists, who wish to be accepted as immigrants in western countries, rallied in Islamabad and asked the western countries to evacuate them because they faced different difficulties there.

The protesting journalists issued a resolution and asked the immigration authority and the parliament of Canada for thier immigration to be facilitated. They said that their lives in both Pakistan and Afghanistan were in danger.

While the supreme leader of Taliban, MawlaviHebatullahAkhundzada, in the grand Ulema council had asked all Afghans living abroad to return to Afghanistan and assured them that no one would be dragged to the court for the crimes committed prior to takeover by Taliban.
