KABUL (Pajhwok): The European Union on Wednesday said the killing of Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri by the US in Kabul reinforced previous doubts about Taliban’s promises.
“Were the Taliban unaware, unable or unwilling to take action against the AQ leader?, wrote Thomas Nicholson, EU special envoy for Afghanistan, on his twitter page.
US President Joe Biden said al-Zawahiri was killed three days ago in downtown Kabul in an attack by an American drone.
