LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of destitute families are being given cash assistance by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province.
The process of distributing the cash assistance has been started and a total of 826 poor families will be given the aid.
Abdul Ghafor Durrani, director general of displaced families at Helmand's Department of Refugees and Returnees, told Pajhwok that each family was being given 700 US dollars.
