KABUL (Pajhwok): Amnesty International (AI) has accused Iran and Turkey of preventing the entry of Afghan refugees and pushing them back in violation of international law.
Hundreds of thousands of Afghans fled their country in August 2021 when the US withdrew and the Taliban came to power, The Hindu reported.
Many Afghans were poor and had no passport or other valid travel documents, making them especially vulnerable to border police, who resorted to threats and outright violence to keep them out or push them back, AI alleged.
