340 families provided electricity in Logar’s Pashtonabad

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Hundreds of families have been provided with electricity supply in the Pashtonabad area of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital of central Logar province, an official said on Sunday.

Da Afghanistan BreshnaShirkat (DABS) Director Mohammad Fahim Mansour told Pajhwok Afghan News a large transformer worth six million afghanis was installed in the Pashtonabad area to electrify 340 houses.

He said in the past these families were deprived of electricity and in the future they will able to benefit from electricity imported from Tajikistan.

Governor MaulviEnayatullahShujaee during the opening ceremony said some rehabilitation projects had been launched in Pul-i-Alam and some other areas and one of them was the electricity project.

He asked people to use electricity for their benefit and pay electricity bills on time.

Haji Mohammad Dawod, a resident of Pashtonabad area, told Pajhwok Afghan News for the first time they availed electricity.

He said many activities of life depended on electricity and in the past they were faced with multiple problems due to none-availability of power. He demanded the provision of electricity to other parts of Pul-i-Alam.
