TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Some residents in northern Takhar province have welcomed the decline in the prices of essential items and urged the government to control the prices of essential items.
Haji Toryalai, one of the shopkeepers of the essential items in Taloqan, said the price of a 49-kilogram of flour bag dropped from 2,700 to 2,200 and a 24-kilogram bag of rice price dropped from 2,400 to 2,000.
He said the main reason behind the decline in the prices of essential food items prices was the appreciation of afghani currency against the dollar.
