KABUL (Pajhwok): International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Director of Operations Martin Schüepp has stressed the need for more support to the most vulnerable people in Afghanistan.
Schüepp tweeted: “Increased prices of basic commodities in Afghanistan make it difficult for most people to make ends meet.”
He wrote: “An average Afghan family could only afford 82 percent of basic food commodities, not leaving money for other essential needs so more support to the most vulnerable is crucial.”
Meanwhile, the ICRC tweeted that half of the population of Afghanistan (about 20 millions) faced serious food insecurity.
