KABUL (Pajhwok): US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Process Thomas West and his delegation met Japanese government officials and discussed issues related to Afghanistan.
On his Twitter handle West wrote: “Discussed way ahead on humanitarian needs, human rights, and political dialogue with @MofaJapan_en Got sage advice from Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto. Talked econ strategy with @jica_usa.”
He said: “Japan has been a friend of the Afghan people and our partner there for over 20 yrs, and we deeply appreciate Japan’s active diplomacy and continued generosity today.”
“We are always stronger, on every challenge, when we act together with allies. True in Afghanistan – we’ll continue to need Japan’s expertise and diverse contributions,” he added.
