Less fortunate families receive aid in Logar, Wardak

MAIDANSHAR (Pajhwok): Over 900 people have received food assistance in central Maidan Wardak province while 2,700 people received cash assistance and food items in logar province, according to statements on Sunday.

The World Food Programme (WFP) distributed cash assistance among 924 vulnerable families in Maidan Shahr province, a statement from the provincial Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department said.

Each family received 4,300 afs each, the statement said.

A welfare organization called Amma distributed winter clothes among 2,000 families in Maidan Wardak province.

In addition, WFP provided cash food aid to 2,700 families in the Azra district of Logar province

Sibghatullah Naeb, spokesperson for the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, said that 800 vulnerable families provided aid and each family was given 8,500 afs.

He said 1,900 families provided food aid with each family getting 50 kilograms of flour, six kilograms of beans, 10 litres of cooking oil and six kilograms of salt.
