MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Revenue Department of northern Balkh province has collected 1.7 billion afghanis revenue during the past 10 months, surpassing the target.
IsmatullahSalimi, director of the Revenue Department, said they had been set 1.6 billion afghanis target, but they collected 1.7 billion afghanis.
According to him, the revenues were collected in form of taxes and rents from different businesses and government properties.
Salimi said they had reduced the income tax from 1.5 percent to 0.5 percent as a discount for shopkeepers in Mazar-i-Sharif city and had also waived off tax . . .
