KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Higher Education says public-sector universities in cold provinces, including Kabul, will reopen next week only for male students.
The ministry tweeted on Wednesday night: “Based on the decision of the leadership council of MoHE, the spring semester for male students of public universities will start after five days.”
But regarding the female students, the ministry said nothing. The new academic year will kick off across the country after three weeks.
Three months ago, MoHE banned education for girls at all government and private universities. For girls, university education was postponed it until further notice.
Last month, the ministry restricted girls from participating in the entrance examination for private universities.
