KALAT (Pajhwok): Domestic cricket tournament between Zabul, Helmand, Herat and Chazni provinces has kicked off in Kalat, the capital of southern Zabul province, an official said on Tuesday.
Mohbob Mohabat, the deputy head of provincial Cricket Board Office, said: “Besides Zabul, teams from Ghazni, Helmand and Herat provinces are participating in the tournament which will continue for seven days.”
The limited over series is named after Sultan Malkhi Tokhi and there would be two 20 overs matches each day, he added.
According to Mohabat the first match was played between Zabul A and Rashid Khan-Helmand teams in which the later won by 14 runs.
Mohammad Nabi, one of the cricket fans, said there were not sport facilities in the province and people are very happy when a sport even is held in the province.
