KABUL (Pajhwok): Visitors have expressed happiness with the security of the Kabul Zoo and amusement parks, urging the caretaker government to create similar recreational sites in all provinces.
Located close Deh Mazang Circle, the Kabul Zoo is the only place in the country that hosts around 100 types of wild and trained animals.
A large number of people visit the zoo during holidays. More than 30,000 individuals thronged the facility this Eid-ul-Fitr.
Pajhwok Afghan News interviewed several individuals who visited the zoo along with family members. They voiced happiness with the security of the site.
They asked the caretaker government to establish more recreational places and thereby create enjoyment and entertainment sources for the masses.
Hafiz Amir Mohammad, who had come from Helmand province to Kabul along with his friends, said he felt elated while visiting such places.
He added it felt good to go round entertainment sites in free time. He caked for the government to set up such facilities in other provinces of the country as well.
Najibullah, who had come along with his daughter and son, also suggested the creation of such places to enable the citizens to enjoy themselves during holidays.
Dill Agha, who had come to the zoo with friends, regretted some tourists hurled different things at animals and thus bothered them unnecessarily.
He advised the visitor to respect urban principles, help ensure its cleanliness and avoid disturbing animals at the zoo.
Mohammad Kabir, another visitor, also urged the people to observe order at public places.
Photographers happy
Mukhtar Ahmad and Ali Agha both photographers, confirmed the number of visitors had surged during Eid. They earned good amounts of money on the occasion.
Aziz Gull Saqib, in charge of the zoo, said the staff of the zoo sacrificed their Eid holidays for serving the visitors to be happy, as the weather was quite suitable for visiting the zoo and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors during Eid festival.
The process of acquiring 21 hectares of land is underway, located at the back of the zoo, os underway. The municipality planned to expand the zoo to international standards, Saqib said.
