KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) says its team is in southern Kandahar province to investigate and respond to increasing hemorrhagic fever (Congo) cases.
The WHO tweeted its team was on the ground investigating and responding to increased cases of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Kandahar.
It said CCHF is a viral disease spread to people from ticks and livestock animals.
“In the last few days, we have trained 69 health workers from different hospitals in the southern region on Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) case management and infection prevention and control”.
