MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): One child was killed and another injured when an old mortar shell exploded in the Saidabad district of central Maidan Wardak province, police said on Thursday.
In a statement sent to Pajhwok, the police headquarterssaid the incident took place in Shaniz Dara area yesterday.
It said one child was killed and another was injured in the blast caused by ‘carelessness’ of the children.
The incident comes a month after four children were killed when an unexploded ordnance went off in Saidabad district.
