KABUL (Pajhwok): Another positive polio case has been registered in the Nazian district of eastern Nangarhar province bordering Pakistan.
The Ministry of Public Health said the crippling disease was detected in a two-and-a-half-year-old boy in Landi Jami Jumat village.
The ministry said Nangarhar province and the entire eastern region faced a high threat of the disease.
Earlier, two positive polio cases were recorded in Batikot district of Nangarhar province.
Afghanistan recorded 56 polio cases in 2020, four cases in 2021 and two in 2022.
