TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Three projects have been completed at a cost of $327,000 and put into service in central Uruzgan province.
Eng. Samiullah, director of river basin authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the schemes were completed with financial support of the World Food Program (WFP) and technical cooperation of the Afghanistan Development Association (ADA)
He said the schemes included construction of 452 meters retaining walls and 7355 smal check dams which took nine months to complete.
Fahim Momand, ADA official, told Pajhwok that 100 women and 900 men were provided work opportunity in the projects
He said each worker was given 100 kilograms of flour, 9 liters of cooking oil, 12kg of pulses and one kilo of salt per month
He added the projects consumed 327,000 US dollars provided by WFP.
