PULIKHUMRI (Pajhwok): The reconstruction of an 80 kilometres portion of the Salang Highway has been initiated by two national companies.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Minister of Public Works Mullah Mohammad Esa Thani, officials of Baghlan and Parwan provinces and people’s representatives attended the inaugural ceremony for the project.
Baradar told participants the Salang Highway’s reconstruction was the second largest project after Qush Tepa Canal. The scheme would enhance travel facilities between the north and south of the country, he said.
