AIBAK (Pajhwok): Taxi drivers in northern Samangan province say they are charged fee for temporary number plates beyond their affordability.
Dozens of taxi drivers held a protest gathering outside the governor’s office in Aibak city, the provincial capital, on Saturday.
Haji Asif, one of the taxi drivers, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The government has promised to charge each taxi only 10,000 afs for sticker plate issuance, but after some months the fee was increased to 17,755afs, which is back breaking and they can’t afford.”
