Central Asian C’ship: Afghan volleyball team leaves for China

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan national volleyball team has left for China to participate in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship, the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (NOC) said on Thursday.

The NOC and General Directorate of Sports wrote on X the Afghanistan national volleyball team left for Hangzhou to participate in the Asian Olympic contest

It said that China is hosting the Asian volleyball championship which is scheduled to commence on September 19.

It added that Afghanistan is placed in group ‘F’ and will play against Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Earlier this month, Afghanistan's national volleyball team participated in the Asian Volleyball Championship hosted by Iran.

About 17 Asian countries took part in that competitions in which Afghanistan took 14th place.
