TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Reconstruction and repair work has been launched on the Takhar-Badakhshan highway at a cost of 15 million afghanis.
Maulavi Amir Khan Huzaifa, Takhar Public Works director a 58-kilometer portion of the highway was being reconstructed. The project also included construction of some retaining walls and a bridge.
The road will be repaired from Taloqan city, the capital of Takhar, up to Kishim district of northeastern Badakhshan province.
The project will be completed in three months, Huzaifa added.
Drivers on the route hailed the project’s launch and said they faced many challenges due to rundown condition . . .
