KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) has referred 48 more children with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) to the local hospitals in Kabul for treatment while over 12,000 more children suffering from the same problem are on the waiting list.
ARCS wrote on its X handle that 48 children with CHD referred to local hospitals in Kabul city for treatment and the cost of their treatment is also paid by ARCS.
The source said that it had so far introduced 1,771 children with CHD problems to different local hospitals over the past 14 months while nearly 1,500 of these children had been treated and joined their families while some others are still receiving their treatment.
ARCS added, so far about 12,000 children with CHD are registered with them and wait their turn for treatment.
