JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Education Department of eastern Nangarhar province says it has arranged literacy courses for 11,000 people, including 4,500 women, in the province.
Officials say currently seven literacy schools and 400 literacy classes are operating in the province. The students are taught by 208 formal and dozens of informal teachers.
Those enrolled in the short courses are happy and they urge the government, especially the education department, to extend the program to other areas as well.
