JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A new positive polio case has been registered in eastern Nangarhar province, taking the total number of cases to six, the Public Health Ministry said on Thursday.
In a press release, MoPH said a 12-year-old boy was diagnosed positive for the crippling disease in Khogyani district.
MoPH said: “Unfortunately another positive case of polio has emerged in Nangarhar province, taking the total number of polio cases to six in 2023”.
Doctor Nik Wali Shah Momin, polio eradication center head at MoPH, said the fresh polio case was after 21 vaccination campaigns during the past two years . . .
